Bernardo specialises in M&A (including acting for founders and private equity funds), shareholder and joint venture arrangements, corporate restructures and commercial trading terms.

• Origin Energy

  Advising on Origin Energy’s acquisition of the Yarrabee Solar Farm development project and the Carisbrook Solar Farm, and advising on multiple disposals, including the sale of the Horan & Bird energy services business to Juice Capital.

• BINGO

  Advising on BINGO’s acquisition of United Waste Services, a recycling and waste management business based in Queensland, and on a number of proposed acquisitions.

• NRMA

  Seconded to the NRMA legal team and advising on multiple acquisitions and general commercial arrangements for the Sixt rental car business and the NRMA Marine divisions.

• The Growth Fund

  Advising on multiple exits for The Growth Fund, including the sale of Fuelfix (the leading provider of specialised fuel storage equipment and services in Australia) and Homyped (a leading designer and wholesaler of comfort footwear in Australia).

• Accor Hotels

  Advising on the naming rights agreement for ‘Accor Stadium’ and Accor’s acquisition of Tribe (Australia’s first integrated modular hotel brand), as well as other commercial contracting matters.

• Petbarn and Greencross

  Advising on Petbarn’s acquisition of several retail stores and Greencross’ acquisition of several veterinary and related businesses across Australia, as well as other commercial contracting matters and compliance advice matters, such as joint ventures, supply terms, consumer law matters, material procurement contracts and Corporations Act issues.
