Maddocks has appointed Sefton Warner as a special counsel in the firm’s Construction and Projects team.
Sefton brings to Maddocks extensive front-end construction projects experience, having worked on a number of major Australian and overseas projects over the past decade. He has advised both the public sector and the private sector (including principals, developers, contractors and financiers) across a range of industries.
He has been recognised for his work in this area in the latest edition of Best Lawyers and was named a ‘rising star’ in construction/infrastructure in Doyle’s Guide.
Sefton joins Maddocks from Norton Rose Fulbright and is based in our Melbourne office. He began with Maddocks this week.
Partner and Melbourne head of the Construction and Projects practice team, Simone Holding, said Sefton was an excellent addition to Maddocks.
‘One of Sefton’s great strengths is the experience and knowledge he has gained working on some of the biggest PPP projects of the past decade,’ Simone said.
‘Maddocks Construction and Projects team works closely with both the public and private sectors on both the front and back end of construction projects. Sefton’s appointment further bolsters our offering to clients.’
Construction and Projects national practice group head, Andrew Pitney, said Sefton’s appointment continues the recent strategic growth in the team.
‘With the appointment of Sefton and of special counsel Catherine Baxter in Sydney late last year, we are continuing to grow and build on our capacity and capability in infrastructure and major projects,’ Andrew said.
