Billy is a construction and projects lawyer who advises local and state government departments and agencies, statutory authorities, consortiums, private developers, contractors and consultants in relation to construction projects.
Billy has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating construction contracts (including Australian Standards and Victorian Public Construction Contracts which are approved standard form contracts by the Department of Treasury and Finance), consultancy agreements, access agreements and cost sharing arrangements. He adopts a proactive, personable and client-focused approach aimed at fostering positive outcomes.
Acted for Poly Australia in relation to its major office development at 1000 Latrobe Street. This included the drafting and negotiation of consultancy agreements with design and non-design consultants and the D&C Contract with the successful builder, as well as advising on complex arrangements relating to various development agreements impacting the site.
Acted for Lotus Living in relation to the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts, D&C Contracts and consultancy agreements across a wide variety of projects including the Sebel Yarrawonga, a resort at the Silverwoods golfing estate and the Jubilee Estate in Wyndham Vale including Club Jubilee, Australia’s first private water park.
Acted for ID Land across a number of its developments including Elements, Glenlee, Amber, Attwell, Rosewood, Yarraville Place, Watermark, Prospect and The Walter. This included the preparation and negotiation of civil works contracts, construction contracts and design and construct contracts for residential dwellings, cost sharing deeds, access licences and infrastructure agreements.
Acted for ACMI in relation to ACMI’s Renewal Project including the drafting and negotiation of consultancy agreements with various consultants, the drafting and negotiation of various construction contracts using standard form contracts approved by the Department of Treasury and Finance including for demolition, main works and the exhibition and experience design fit out.
Acted for Victoria University in the drafting and negotiation of the construction contracts for its major infrastructure projects being the Sunshine Skills Hub and the College of Health and Biomedicine at Sunshine Hospital.
