Maddocks advises CleanPeak Energy on solar farm acquisition in the ACT and WA
Maddocks has advised CleanPeak Energy Renewable Investment Trust (CPERI) on the acquisition of three solar farms from Sentient Impact Group, based in the ACT and WA.

The acquisition of the Williamsdale Solar Farm and the Mount Majura Solar Farm from Sentient’s portfolio in the ACT will bring the CPERI Trust’s solar farm investment in the Territory to $70m while adding 26 gigawatt-hours of power.
The agreement with Sentient Impact Group, that was signed last week, also includes the Karratha Solar Farm in WA.
CleanPeak Energy has been building a portfolio of renewable energy assets across Australia. This is the fourth acquisition Maddocks has undertaken for CleanPeak Energy, including CleanPeak’s acquisition of Mugga Lane Solar Farm in the ACT earlier this year, and the Barangaroo South Precinct’s utility business in Sydney in 2022.
A multidisciplinary team from Maddocks Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra worked to bring the deal to fruition, led by Corporate Partner Ron Smooker and Senior Associate Jacqui Picone with support from Partners Peter Limbers, Pria O’Sullivan, Clare Batrouney, Joshua Same, Sefton Warner and Special Counsel Trent Chugg. Senior Associates Alena Stirton, Teresa Hislop, Peter Hoolihan also assisted.
Speaking about the transaction, Ron Smooker said: “We are very pleased to continue our support for CleanPeak Energy’s long term vision to become a major player in energy transition across Australia.
“The transaction again demonstrates Maddocks’ top tier skills and capabilities and the ability of our specialist lawyers from different disciplines and different offices to work together seamlessly to deliver a successful outcome for our clients.”
