Maddocks contributes to global environment guide

Maddocks Partner Patrick Ibbotson and Senior Associate Michael Winram have authored a chapter in The International Comparative Legal Guide to: Environment & Climate Change Law 2015 Edition.

The ICLG series (updated annually) provides current and practical comparative legal information on a range of practice areas and follow a question and answer format to ensure thorough coverage of each topic within different legal systems worldwide.

The contribution covers in-depth commentary across environmental policy and its enforcement, environmental permits, waste, liabilities, the sensitive issue of contaminated land, powers of regulators, the applicable reporting and disclosure obligations, general advice, emissions trading and climate change, legal considerations in the management of asbestos, environmental insurance liabilities, and more recent updates in industry.

Patrick Ibbotson offers, “The ICLG series provides a practical insight for general counsel, government agencies and private practice lawyers keeping them abreast of law and policy globally. As such we’re delighted to be able to offer our perspective on this complex area of industry.”

Michael Winram comments, “Environment and Climate Change Law continues to evolve. We have drawn on our practical experience in working with both the private and public sector in Australia to deliver real value to our clients, and importantly the communities which they service.”

Maddocks offers ongoing planning and environment commentary via its blog, covering legal updates, trends and matter examples from across Australia.
